Who is this class for?
People who have completed the Novice Obedience and would like to continue their obedience training.
Proof of vaccination will be required for Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Parainfluenza and Rabies.
We ask that proof of vaccines please be brought in with you on the first night of class for our trainer to verify. If you do not have a copy of your dog's most recent vaccines please contact your vet clinic.
What does this class cover?
The intermediate class is a step above our Novice Obedience class and focuses on building on the obedience skills learned in the Novice Course. This class introduces dogs and handlers to more precise heel work with increased distractions, long distance stays with increased time and distance away from the handler, working on "go to heel" from different positions around the handler and recalls. This class also incorporates a stand on command and teaching the dog to stand quietly during examinations by another person such as a vet. This class lays the foundation for both the advanced obedience skills needed to fully control your dog in public settings and to make them even more of a pleasure to live with and provide some off leash reliability as well as competition preparedness for those handlers that feel ready to try their hand in the obedience ring.
